About the author
Haili Hughes is an experienced secondary school English teacher who absolutely adores being in the classroom and cannot imagine doing anything else. As somebody still in the classroom, she feels the frustrations too and wants to help others overcome it too.
Before training as a teacher, she was a national newspaper journalist for an infamous tabloid newspaper in London, but found a conscience and wanted to do something more worthwhile.
In her spare time, she writes books and regular columns for TES and speaks at various conferences and events across the UK. In addition, she is currently studying for a Doctorate in Education at the University of Glasgow and her research interests are retaining experienced teachers and teacher identity amongst first generation teachers.
She lives in the idyllic Saddleworth countryside with her husband and two children, where she regularly bumps into her students and their families and loves it!
