How can our education system be made fit for purpose in a rapidly changing world, where the norms are no longer capable of delivering the goods to the new generation? David Boddy argues that real change can take place when teachers and parents work together to create schools and homes of warm-heartedness.
In this compelling book, which draws on his experience in politics, education, and business, Boddy unfolds a curriculum that develops a secular ethical approach to education, emphasising unity of the human family, the importance of the child, and the means for the evolution of happiness in our homes and schools.
"Open-hearted and warm-hearted are bed-partners. Both are desperately needed in our crazy world. What education in our country needs today is wisdom, not just
intelligence. This book has plenty of it." Sir Anthony Seldon

Praise for Mind Their Hearts
‘David Boddy is able to describe the mind and heart of education fully because he observes it from his own inner spirit. Mind Their Hearts is an important book, for if it was followed our schools would be transformed and our children nourished’. —Paul Moss, former Chairman, Independent Schools Association
‘In a deeply troubled and uncertain world, Mind Their Hearts provides a way to educate our children that calls out the best of the human spirit. While politics splits and divides, the warm-hearted approach to education unifies. And we need that unity’. —Clive Rickart, General Secretary, The Society of Heads
‘Against the backdrop of a rising recognition of the impact which mental health issues have on our young people, David Boddy provides a superbly argued case for warm-heartedness to be at the centre of our schools. Warm-heartedness is the starting point for the acknowledgement that there is a pure intelligence in every child, and that by reaching out to it and allowing it to flourish, young people are enabled to enjoy good, useful and happy lives’. —Peter Bodkin, former General Secretary, The Society of Heads
‘Set against the backdrop of a bleak and soulless educational landscape, Mind Their Hearts provides encouragement and inspiration in equal measure. David Boddy’s style is thought-provoking as it challenges one’s own thinking about how we approach education. Reminiscent of the work of Arundale and Krishnamurti, who believed that mutual affection and trust were at the root of effective education, Mind Their Hearts brings this bang up-to-date and provides a breath of fresh air. It should be compulsory reading for all those involved in education’. —Richard Palmer, Headmaster, St Christopher School, and former Chairman, The Society of Heads
