About the author

Mike has taught in comprehensive schools since September 1989. He was a Headteacher of a vulnerable secondary school between 2005 and 2012 and has 16 years of senior leadership experience in three different schools. He has been an Associate Advisor (Cambridgeshire) for history and contributed a number of articles to Historical Association’s Teaching History. He currently teaches history and sociology at Hills Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge, where he is a Teaching, Learning and Assessment Lead involved in coaching, mentoring, running the Teacher Journal Club and supporting in house research activities. He is a Teacher Research Lead within the SUPER partnership associated with the Faculty of Education of the University of Cambridge.
